On Wednesday 1st March, Lorna Malone a past Art student of St. Malachy’s High School visited the department to give a presentation of her art work and achievements since she left the school 4 years ago.

Lorna is at the moment studying for her BA (Hons) Degree in Graphics and Illustration at The University of Ulster, Belfast, after having successfully completed the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at the same university. She is half way through her ERASMUS year, studying in Germany in order to broaden her creative horizons and enhance any future life choices.

Lorna presented the portfolio that she has created since starting the degree course, giving a true and realistic insight into the many aspects of the projects and work involved in these courses. She gave our pupils an understanding of student life, independence and living abroad as a undergraduate of Art and Design.

We really appreciated the time Lorna took out from her busy schedule to visit both students and teachers in the Art Department and look forward to seeing again soon and visiting her Finals Exhibitions at the University of Ulster.
