St Malachy’s High School students celebrate another very successful year where the high standards set in previous years have been exceeded with an increased number of students achieving the top grades at GCSE

There was a fantastic buzz about the school on Thursday 24th August when students arrived to receive their GCSE results. A great family atmosphere was present as parents, friends and family celebrated the outstanding success of the Yr.12 students.

This year, the results are better than ever, in fact they are the best in the history of the school with 74% of students achieving A*-C grades in five or more subjects and an amazing 68 students achieving 7 or more A*-C grades with 10 students achieving 10 or more GCSE’s. Once again the quality of results has increased with many students securing several A* and A grades in a wide range of subjects.

Mrs O’Neill principal praised the students, teachers and parents, commenting, “These wonderful results are very well deserved, reflecting everyone’s hard work and commitment not only after five years in St Malachy’s but also bearing in mind the excellent foundations laid in our “feeder” primary schools.

Our parents can certainly enjoy their child’s success as their support, encouragement and loyalty to St Malachy’s has been outstanding.

The staff are thrilled with everyone’s achievements as each student reached their full potential with the support of a dedicated team of teachers. Valuing every pupil and having high expectations of each one is at the core of what we are about at St. Malachy’s and this group of students have certainly lived up to these high expectations. praised the students, teachers and parents, commenting, “These excellent results are very well deserved, reflecting everyone’s hard work and commitment not only after five years in St Mary’s but also keeping in mind the sound foundations laid in our “feeder” primary schools.
