IME Students visit Facebook HQ Dublin

Irish Medium Education students from St Malachy’s High School, Castlewellan, in partnership with Miss Colleen Hughes, won a competition with Conradh na Gaeilge.
This was a competition run for Seachtain na Gaeilge (Irish Week). The prize was a trip to Facebook Headquarters in Dublin to take part in Lá na Meán Soisialta (Social media day as Gaeilge) highlighting the advantages of using social media to aid the learning of Irish.

 

They were part of an audience of a panel discussion, hosted by Miriam O Callaghan. The panel spoke of their experiences of working with Irish in daily life.  The panel comprised of  Cormac Breathnach from foclóir.ie (the new online dictionary,) Cara Nig Fhearraigh from Facebook, Mícheál Ó Ciaraidh from TG4, Niamh Ní Chróinín from raidó Rí-Rá and Edel Ní Bhraonáin from na Gaeil óga.
